At Bethesda Medical Clinic our mission is to provide exceptional medical care in a caring, compassionate, convenient, and friendly environment. Drs. Shibu & Amy Varughese can fulfill many healthcare needs, including Internal Medicine, Oncology, Hematology, Geriatrics, Palliative Medicine, and Endocrinology.

Hematology & Oncology:

In Hematology, we focus on both non-cancerous and cancerous conditions. These conditions include but are not limited to anemia, sickle cell disease, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, leukopenia, leukocytosis, lymphocytosis, ITP, TTP, leukemia and lymphoma.

In Oncology, we diagnose and manage all solid organ malignancies and provide on-site treatment
The Infusion Center at Bethesda Medical Clinic provides a variety of infusion services including, but not limited to, chemotherapy, hydration, antibiotics, iron infusion and immunoglobulins.

Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism:

Bethesda Medical Clinic helps our patients to manage a variety of diseases including diabetes, disorders of the thyroid (including thyroid cancer), parathyroid, pituitary, adrenal, and gonads. We also help to manage mineral abnormalities such as bone loss, hypocalcemia, osteopenia, osteoporosis, and Paget’s Disease.
We offer nutrition services including Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and Diabetes Self-Management & Treatment (DSMT).

Geriatrics:

Geriatric Medicine concentrates on complex illnesses, spiritual, and psychological problems common in older adults in addition to general health care of older adults. These include, but are not limited to:

Dementia
Behavioral disorders
Gait/Falls
Malnutrition
Incontinence
Osteoporosis
Osteoarthritis & Chronic Pain

Palliative Medicine:

Palliative Medicine offers pain & symptom management, emotional and spiritual support when patients face a chronic debilitating or life-threatening illness. The goal of palliative medicine is to help our patients and their family to assess, anticipate and alleviate pain/suffering.

Our palliative care team at Bethesda Medical Clinic will guide patients and families to set goals of care, treatment options, diagnostic interventions, and advanced care planning. In addition, we offer bereavement services.
